A Stranger's Step

Cake-Beer-Wazzzzzzzaaaahhhh

I currently live in a place called Boulder Creek here in Pullman. Right up the street (literally like a 2 min walk) from my place is a coffee shop (Zoes), a pho restaurant (Azia’s), and a bar (The Zzu). Since these places are so close to me, it would be wrong of me not to go! Its pretty sweet to have places like these within a mile radius; I can get drunk and have some pho at the same time. Recently Zoe’s has started serving various kinds of beers. So, when I’m tired of having coffee, I can get a beer and some cake to go with it.

Like right now for instance, I got the River Rat Red. Its taste’ is similar to the Ridgetop Red from SilverCity Brewery in Silverdale.  To go along with my beer, my friend decided to get a chocolate cake with the works, chocolate syrup and frosting. Not a bad match up, hopefully I don’t regret this later tonight. This place reminds of the Global Bean, but with a nicer owner (if you hung out at the GB, you’d know). I’ve been sitting here since 3PM studying, preparing for the upcoming exams I have this week.  So friends and family, from back home, if you’re reading this, come hang out here before I graduate in May. We can get coffee, pho, and get drunk all within a 2 minute walk from my place!

On a side note, The girls I’m studying with recently discovered the “wazzzaaahhhhhhp” thing. But its with fruit, instead of with the Budweiser Gang. Heres the link that they’ve become so infatuated with:

They were pretty relentless about making me participate in the wazzzzaaaah-ness…..

Peanut Catching Squirrels and Samurai Girls

So it finally took a drunk night to make me wanna blog again. Maybe because I actually have time to, or because I’m awake so early (surprisingly enough). I thought I’d be sleeping still…oh well

Last night was pretty interesting. Carlo Rossi was there and various other assortments of wine that I cannot remember at the moment. Anyway, the usual activities ensued before going out, the prefunk. I normally head over to my friend’s place off Lybecker to get in the right mindset to go to Mikes (A Pullman bar, the closest thing to a club here).  I drank a lot of wine, people were taking shots, there was singing of karaoke, and my friends were doing impressions of each other when they’re drunk.

Imagine a guy having his elbows glued to his ribcage and being really enthusiastic about everything. That would be my roommate Seanism, looking like the happiest T-Rex with a beer in one hand. Then there’s my friend Wolverick, who becomes unbelievably non-understandable when under some kind of influence. He mumbles, slurs, speaks in tongues, and falls asleep mid-sentence. It’s nearly impossible to have a conversation with him. Miercovich, when there’s a party going down, and you want to go to outer space, he’ll gladly take you there. So like any gentlemen astronaut, he’ll point at you from across the room and ask “You wanna smoke!?” and will do until somebody says yes. Their impression of me though was completely wrong, but I’ll share it with you anyway. I’m pegged as the guy that takes off his shirt and does push ups when I get drunk. That has never happened ever! How they got this impression of me, I don’t know, but it’s totally wrong. My mannerism are hard to identify I think, that’s why they couldn’t think of any.

On to Mikes! The 15 minute walk from Lybecker to Mikes gets shorter and shorter every time. Surprisingly this night did not have an extremely long line to get in. But it did have a lot more Korean girls this time around! Heh heh heh…..Before you know it, im buying drinks for people I know, and dancing with girls I don’t. Awwwww, fun stuff. I decided that was I was done before everyone else and left early. Stumbled drunk back up to Lybecker to get my coat and headed home. Which was an adventure, I think I was having a conversation with my hat at one point….

Normally after a night like that, I cook a lot and I eat. Interestingly enough, I still have all my fingers. I don’t think I should be using any sharp objects when I’m bouncing around the kitchen, but I do anyway. Last nights menu consisted of fried rice, spam, and some beef curry. I didn’t eat all of it, my friends and roommates were there to enjoy it as well. After that we watched Dune, I used an X-Acto knife to cut the plastic of the DVD box. Again, should not have used that. I don’t remember anything after the knife fight scene. That must have been where I knocked out. But I don’t remember leaving the living room and going to my room. Which is why, when I awoke at 8:46 AM, I was confused.

The dream I had, which was my original intention for writing this blog, consisted of peanut catching squirrels and samurai girls. But now that I’m toward the end of this, I can’t remember the rest of it! I need more sleep…
